Yes, I love my awesome new cheetah t-shirt. I'm standing up; this was a really big castle. Melissa took this one - and she also helped alot on the castle - she's the best.

just a placeholder from my big project yesterday - a few more to come, hopefully soon. Sorry about the grainy photo quality - I learned a new lesson with this one: don't start a 7 hour sand sculpture 6 hours before sunset... By the time I ...

Summer of 2004 or 2005 - I didn't mean for it to look like a reptile, but I suppose it does.

Half the fun of making a sandcastle with a driftwood-skeleton is that its impervious to the first round of waves. Unfortunately, had to leave before the tide came up any higher than this.

I think Paul took this photo, late summer 2004. Wingaersheek has really dark, gray, muddy sand that's not particularly attractive - and it smells pretty fishy - but its so claylike that it makes for a good castle. Plus, there's great t...

Melissa took this one - that's me washing out the buckets (it was time to catch the train back home...). I had designed this castle to survive the first round of waves as the tide came up - I really wanted to see it with the water rushing und...

Apply layers of wet sand (hence the tupperware of water) and dry, powdery sand to cover up the sticks and string. Repeat until entirely covered and people start asking if there are sticks in there.

as I was leaving Revere Beach on Tuesday, the sun finally came out from under the clouds. I'm not crazy about the photo, but it seemed like a nice way of closing the door on sand castle season. Unless we get a ridiculous heat wave or someh...

My silly camera had no idea about what to focus on in this shot, but I still love that wavering reflect, the sand starting to turn orange in the sunset, and, of course, the 3 ducks keeping a respectful distance as they pass by.

Tried to make an "open face" sand castle, I suppose. I don't think it worked out so well, and that glaring sun on the white sand didn't really help the photo. Still, who can complain about spending a couple hours messi...
