It turns out that you can, actually, take nice pictures with a cameraphone, you just have to get really lucky. I like this a lot - the exposure worked out perfectly. It's sort of like working with an old manual point-and-shoot, there are stra...

"FUTUREVILLE
Is Vancouver becoming the ideal sustainable city?"

It sure is pretty.

The Arch really impressed me.

Mr. Cat, the given name of whom I do not know, often likes to make nests for himself in the grass along the path I walk home every evening.

He doesn't care if you get close, or if you are noisy, or if you are curious.

Mr. Cat is content.

CSA, the Canadian Standards Association, certifies the safety of various goods. To do this, they need testing facilities, and this is from the CSA International (their commercial sister-company) testing facility in Edmonton. I went around back to ...

The quiet randomness that is downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba. It's kind of pretty, for being in the middle of the plains. Some nice areas. There are worse places to live, I imagine. (Cough Edmonton cough)

Getting closer to the desert... look, you can see the vegetation dying. (On the way from Seattle to Mojave, on I-5 somewhere.)

The closer you get to the St. Louis arch the bigger it seems to get.. I think those are people, those little dots near the foot of it.

The weird double-cantilever staircase where I work. At least I think it's double-cantilever. I dunno. There are some cables.

It's very bright in here.

Kenora, Ontario. The Trans-Canada Highway is in the foreground. Not really horrible, I guess, as photoshop-composited panoramas go. I really like panoramas.

I had to take a picture. It amuses me. (But really, how hard is it to make love in a canoe?)

The Coliseum LRT (Light Rail Train) station, Edmonton. It just looks sad and desolate, and that's sort of how Edmonton feels.

This is what constitutes the bus station, somewhere in Ontario. There's a passenger area to my right, and this to my left -- it was so nice of them to leave a spot for taxi parking. Space is at a premium here, clearly.

There is a passenger shuttle-train system that runs inside one of the terminals at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. It's seriously high tech, and feels like it should be in Narita, Tokyo's major airport, instead of, you know......

So old! And so abandoned. I wonder what sort of things they did. This is somewhere like 9th and Washington streets, downtown St. Louis.

Edmonton, Canada. Sometimes it looks alright. This is eastish of downtown along the river, looking southwestish.
