We are a search engine for free photos. These come from many sources and are license-specific. You can view a photo's license by clicking on the license icon, below and left of photos. Membership is free, without advertising, and allows you to rate, tag, collect and comment on photos.

11.09.09 We are happy to announce a major release today which will fix some existing bugs as well as offering a bunch of new advanced search features, including granular control of what sites you are searching. This release has also combined all of our CSS into a single file, so please do report any problems you have (along with your browser and OS combination). We hope these changes make the site more useful!
11.09.09 Morguefile has been re-indexed, including cleaning up all the old photos and adding all of their new photos. This should make it easier to search their fantastic library!
08.25.09 We have finished re-indexing Freerange stock, and these images are streaming into our production database presently, and should be up-to-date in a couple days. Freerange now has over 8000 quality free images!
07.21.09 At long last, our indexing efforts are up and running again, with high quality free photos from photoxpress streaming into the site. This will be complete in the next few days. Don't forget you can use the source filter to choose a particular site to search exclusively. Next up, we turn to a morguefile re-indexing!
07.17.09 Our default sorting algorithm favors popularity heavily. As a result, over the last year, salacious photos, across all searches, have been floating up. Obviously popular with some, they are offensive to others! To combat this, we introduced a "safe search" mode, which filtered out photos marked as NSFW. This was off by default. Due to increasing feedback from users, we are changing safe search to default to ON. you can turn it OFF via the advanced search, or in your user search preferences. We are also making sure that safe search mode applies across all the website features. The remaining challenge is that flagging photos as NSFW is a manual thing. We need your help! Please use the report tab to flag photos, and we will process these asap. We are also doing our best to go through some of the more popular searches. Hopefully all these efforts will lead to some improvement and make the site more friendly for everyone. Thanks!
